| Before I got to Mom’s house, I took a slight detour into Tupelo, MS and visited the birthplace of Elvis Presley. The house has been restored but it sits in the same location as it did when he was born. Talk about starting from meager beginnings! It was a 2 room house (bedroom and kitchen, nothing else but the front porch) on a farm at the time, and after his dad Vernon went to prison for passing a bad check (they were a little more strict back then) they lost the house. Quite a beginning for a man that ended up being one of the most popular and recognized people to ever walk the planet. |
